Job Duties and Responsibilities of Walmart Associate Optometrist:
- Provide evidence-based vision care including recommending and prescribing treatments for various eye conditions such as red eye, LASIK, and cataracts.
- Deliver routine eye exams following clinical care guidelines and educate patients and associates on eye health, contact lens care, and disease management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans within the optometry scope of practice.
- Utilize advanced optical technology including digital phoropters, EMR systems, and imaging tools such as Maestro OCT.
- Ensure compliance with optical policies, procedures, and state regulations regarding prescriptions, licensure, and billing processes.
- Promote a culture of quality patient care, safety, and operational excellence in the facility.
- Provide coaching and guidance to associates and managers on customer concerns and operational improvements.
- Participate in recruitment efforts to attract qualified optometrists in collaboration with leadership.
Qualifications and Experience of Walmart Associate Optometrist:
- Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure to practice optometry in good standing within the state.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Proven ability to embrace new technologies and advanced instrumentation.
- Experience managing ocular diseases and providing evidence-based treatment.

Salary:
The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 to $200,000, with additional performance-based bonuses. Other compensation may include regional pay zone adjustments, sales volume incentives, and complexity structure pay based on operational challenges.
