Job Summary of Staff Optometrist:

Deliver outstanding optical service by assisting customers in selecting eyewear, explaining lens options, and handling orders with accuracy. You’ll ensure all optical merchandise is organized and compliant with regulations while supporting the optometry team to provide a seamless, quality customer experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Staff Optometrist:

• Greet and assist customers in choosing the right eyewear solutions based on lifestyle and prescription needs.
• Coordinate with optometrists to gather prescription information and clarify customer requirements.
• Keep optical displays neat, clean, and fully stocked, aligning with Walmart’s visual standards.
• Assist in managing incoming inventory, including verifying shipments and processing returns.
• Provide eyewear fittings, minor repairs, and adjustments to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate order entry for glasses and contact lenses, verifying prescription accuracy.
• Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and privacy regulations, including HIPAA.
• Support claims management and product returns in line with company protocols.

Qualifications and Experience of Staff Optometrist:

• Minimum: Enrollment in a recognized Optometry school.
• Preferred: Retail or healthcare background with experience in optical customer service and inventory handling.
