Job Summary of Optometrist Eyecare:

You will assist customers in selecting eyewear, verifying prescriptions, and offering advice on eye health. In addition to customer-facing duties, you will maintain the optical area, ensuring it is organized, fully stocked, and compliant with relevant health standards, contributing to Walmart’s overall customer service excellence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Optometrist Eyecare:

• Guide customers in selecting the right eyewear based on their needs, preferences, and prescription information.
• Work with the Associate Doctor of Optometry to diagnose visual problems and conditions.
• Ensure the optical department is well-stocked, merchandise is displayed effectively, and the area is clean and organized.
• Support with inventory management, including unloading deliveries, organizing stock, and managing returns.
• Provide optical services such as adjustments, fittings, and repairs.
• Accurately complete prescription orders and assist customers with the fitting process.
• Comply with Walmart’s policies, procedures, and healthcare-related regulations, such as HIPAA.
• Ensure the optical area is a safe working environment by following all safety protocols.

Qualifications and Experience of Optometrist Eyecare:

• Minimum: Enrollment in an accredited Optometry school or Optical program.
• Preferred: Experience in optical care, retail, or customer service, with a focus on eyewear products and services.

Salary:

• Hourly wage between $15.00 - $32.00, commensurate with experience.
