Job Summary of Meat Cutter:

This role is for a fresh food associate, specifically within the meat department, at Sam's Club. You'll play a crucial part in ensuring members receive high quality meat products, making decisions on quality, packaging, and display. This position involves direct member service, requiring a positive attitude and attention to detail to create excellent shopping experiences.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Meat Cutter:

• Collaborate with other associates to build a strong meat team, communicate effectively, and be flexible to work in other areas as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of business on the floor, backroom operations, product safety standards, sanitation guidelines, inventory management, and the operation, maintenance, and sanitization of equipment.
• Prepare (for example, cutting, grinding, wrapping, trimming) meat products according to established standards, cut boneless meat products, and maintain product quality standards.
• Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement, utilizing handheld technology for immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
• Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
• Ensure commitment to operational excellence, maintaining the work area according to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure quality and date control standards for meat products, secure fragile and high shrink merchandise, and eliminate waste.
• Assist members with purchasing decisions and ensure merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Be an advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member's experience in the meat area and modeling high quality service and products.
• Execute the basics at the highest possible level of quality and exhibit energy, commitment, and passion for the work.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and using the Open Door Policy.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Qualifications and Experience of Meat Cutter:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• You will be required to attend and successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if you receive the position.

Salary:

• The hourly wage range for this position is $16.00 to $23.00.
• Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
