Job Summary of Deli/Bakery Team Associate:

This position is focused on preparing fresh, high quality deli and bakery products while delivering excellent service to customers. Associates in this role engage with shoppers at the service counter, stock merchandise, and ensure cleanliness and food safety. Attention to detail, customer interaction, and adherence to sanitation guidelines are essential for success.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Deli/Bakery Team Associate:

• Prepare, slice, package, and label deli meats, cheeses, bakery items, and other fresh foods.
• Provide prompt, courteous service to customers at the counter and answer product-related inquiries.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Stock shelves and displays with incoming deli and bakery merchandise, rotating items as needed.
• Ensure all products are fresh, correctly priced, and properly labeled.
• Follow all company policies related to food preparation, handling, and safety protocols.
• Monitor temperature levels for hot and cold cases to ensure food safety compliance.
• Collaborate with team members to meet department goals and support store operations.

Qualifications and Experience of Deli/Bakery Team Associate:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous food service or grocery experience is a plus but not required.
• Basic understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
• Ability to work in cold or hot environments and stand for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
• Must be able to lift moderate weights and perform repetitive tasks.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary:

• $19 - $32 per hour
• Eligible for performance based incentives and premium pay between $0.35 and $3.00 per hour.
